Well, It's been awhile. I even forgot my blog site. Thanks Nancy, you rock!
Lots of changes have come about my life this year, all for the better but one thing will remain....I will continue to Homeschool for this coming year. This is where God continues to lead me and my daughter, so we will walk with him thru this journey in our lives.
We will be moving this week-end and will start school once we are settled. Probely the end of August. I'll update more later. I missed you all!

Making some switches or tweeks
Well, we had went back to Abeka Science for Kennidy and she likes that so much better. Plus, she really needs me to do one on one with her. It seems to get in her brain better.
We stopped using ACE SS, and tried CLE (as I already had it on hand) but were ditching it and going back to ACE, but I'm gonna read it with her so it gets in her brain.
Today were in a HUGE snow blizzard, I think we've gotten 20" of snow already, maybe more. Roads are closed cuz they took the plows off. You know it's bad when they do that.

Almost December already???
Man, the year is flying but so is the frustrations.
Maybe it's the holidays coming and we are less motivated, at least the kids anyway.
I've had to make some changes lately, some not by choice but by what works better than the
other.
For Kennidy, I switched her over to R&S 3 math to focus more on the basics and yet still have a little review.
It's going very well and were both really liking it so much better. For now anyways. But I do plan to stick it out for the year.
She was really struggling with her Science & SS which I had switched her over to ACE. She just wasn't comprehending enough so I'm using my Abeka Science and CLE SS. Not sure if I'll stay with this but I'm doing this at least till Christmas break to see if me reading to her helps her better. She still really needs more of a teacher interaction yet, than independant studying.
Kenny is having some struggles in English, trying to remember all those horrible terms is killing him and gets me frustrated. But, I have to keep telling myself that he is LD and not many people remember all those terms when they grow up.
They both wrote papers last week on where they would go if they had all the money in the world. Well, Kennidy picked Florida, not a shocker since she wants to go to Disney.
Kenny picked California. He went alone on his trip so he could eat all the candy he wanted. Huh! It's funny what kids think of at this age.
Other than that, not too much to tell....just waiting patiently for Christmas break! :)

Big Changes!!
Wow, I really need to update more often. I guess I've been really busy with my newest student this year.
My son Kenny started out the year at the Private School he's attended his whole life, but they switched 7th grade to Connections Academy. Well, it wasn't going well so after a lot of prayer, we decided to bring him home and Homeschool him.
He absolutely loves it and I do too. It does have it's challenges tho when your trying to help 2 children. There have been some trouble spots with things I don't understand, but were getting thru them.
I decided to use all ACE with him. It really helps take a big load off me so I can still work more with Kennidy. I liked that I could place him in the right levels for each grade. We made some adjustments with WB, I moved him up (as it said to do 4th and he's in 7th). I placed him in the 6th gr. level and it's working out just fine. He is LD in Spelling.
I definetly am seeing where his LD areas are and hoping to help him overcome those this year.
Kennidy is really enjoying having someone else home with her and it does keep me on my toes as well.
Of course I'm still finding time to obscess (sp?) over curric., I think it's my hobby! LOL
Take care

Fourth Grade is going strong!!
Well, were just finishing up our 4th week into our school year. It's going really well.
It took awhile to find our groove in Math. She seemed to forget how to borrow so that was a challenge.
Instead of staying with CLE, we decided to go with ACE. She tested a year behind but were ok with that. I've realized that a spiral math was just too much for her, even tho should COULD do it, I think it was denying her of really mastering some of the basics. She is loving ACE math and actually wants to do math, a real change around here.
I also decided to ditch CLE SS (which we've never used before) and give ACE SS a try. I really like the simplicity of ACE, very teacher friendly and kid too!
Hope you all enjoy your year!
